Children and young people can be the agents of change for our society. With these resources they can learn about different social action projects driven by the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, what it is doing about climate change and what advocacy means.
Be a Kindness Champion
Be a Kindness Champion
Learn why the Commonwealth Games is known as the ‘Friendly Games’, how acts of kindness can affect others and how athletes show kindness to their competitors and themselves. Pupils watch the Kindness Champions video and identify acts of kindness they can do in and out of the classroom. Teachers can print and award the Bring the Power Kindness Champion certificate to pupils who have shown kindness in their school community.

One World, One Planet
Discover the ways in which the planet is suffering from climate change and what the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is doing to offset carbon emissions. Pupils learn about pledges that Birmingham 2022 has made to improve the environment and make their own pledges to make their environment healthier.

Explore what social action is and the social action projects that the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games promoting United by 22. United 22 is a scheme that supports grass-roots projects in the Birmingham and West Midlands area. Pupils create their own social action projects and evaluate a range of social action projects in Birmingham and the West Midlands.
