Religious Education

Our Catholic identity is central to how we learn at St James the Apostle School. During your time with us, we invite you and your child to deepen your understanding of faith. Through the Religious Education (RE) curriculum, your child will engage in study to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith. They will be invited to reason and respond to what they have learnt, through dialogue with others. Importantly, every learner has the opportunity to engage personally and communally with Catholic tradition and faith and make connections in their own lives.

Your child will engage in around three RE sessions each week. As RE is an integral part of our curriculum, all children are expected to engage in this learning.

Sacraments and School

Learners will engage in inquiries to prepare to celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation throughout their time in the Middle and Senior Learning Communities.

All learners are invited to be part of these celebrations, whether they are Catholic or not.

These are important celebrations in the faith life of our children and our parish. Please take note of the following opportunities to support your child in their preparation for the sacrament.
