In order to understand the influence of fairy tales across cultures, students were tasked with reading various versions of "Cinderella" from The Classic Fairy Tales by Maria Tatar. Having understood and analyzed the literature, students were assigned to write a literary criticism of a Cinderella story through the lens of a critical theory, explaining how the stories would be read through that perspective.

I chose to write a literary criticism of the Brothers Grimm version of Cinderella through the lens of moral criticism.
