Normandy 1944

A making of the debry system using Houdini. 

I've done first 3 distinctive HDA to populate simple geometrie inside planes in order to create more realistic debry explosion. 

A second wave of HDA to animate the debry using particles. First, i put a particle at the center of the debry object. I add an attribute of scale regarding the volume of the object for the collision and an attribute of velocity regarding the center and the size of the exploder object ( a simple sphere in the demo ).
Then, i animate particles as needed before to re-assign every debry object to it's corresponding particle. 
The playback in the demo is in realtime. I've speedup by 2 the sphere manipulation. 
I've also mix this with cloth and wire dynamic object for the engine explosion.

Another set of HDA were made for create bullet holes and damaged aircraft, but wasn't used in the movie.

Every other steps were made using XSI (Modeling, FX, Rendering, etc.)
