Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV)
Everything that we believe, teach, and confess comes from the Bible Alone (Sola Scriptura). While many congregations claim to “teach just the Bible,” this simply isn’t the case. Jesus doesn’t say in the Bible about Holy Communion, “Take, eat; this is My body,” and, “Take, eat; this symbolizes My body.” One is Biblical; one is not. The Bible also doesn’t teach that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, apart from works, and, we are saved by works. One is Biblical; one is not.
We believe that every Word of the Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is truly the Word of God. We also believe that God speaks clearly in His Word and so we cannot just agree to disagree, or decide which parts of God’s Word are fundamentally important and which ones are not. We take Jesus seriously when He said to the apostles, “…teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” We do make the claim that we do just teach the Bible and, in a spirit of brotherly love, encourage you to examine what we teach with the Bible.
