Our workshops and special events are led by expert resident and visiting teachers who share their passion and understanding of how ancient principles and holistic methods can improve your everyday life. With these workshops, we continue our own education and we invite our members to expand their practice and awareness of the many modalities for self-healing and self- discovery

Chakra Healing & Meditation Workshop

In this time of increased stress and anxiety, many people are looking for a way to connect with their inner wisdom. This workshop is designed to help focus on your energy flow. Learn about the chakras and what each is responsible for within your body. By deepening your meditation practice to include these parts of total energy, you can initiate improved focus and healing. This workshop will include study of energy flow, chakra systems, and balancing and beginning to heal these systems. Try this workshop to allow healing energy to circulate more freely through your body. Learn to release repetitive thoughts and balance your chakras for greater relaxation.

Reiki Workshop

Reiki is a compound noun in Japanese – it can be loosely translated as “universal life force energy”. This is a tremendously powerful healing system that can address problems of any kind, whether physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. Having Reiki increases the flow of higher vibrations of energy through your aura and into the physical body. Reiki energy works to harmonize, or bring into balance the total you: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Reiki releases blocked energy, promotes relaxation, and reduces stress. It has an innate intelligence and goes wherever needed in the body, helping to cleanse the body of toxins.

Reiki is an ancient art rediscovered in Japan during the late 19th century by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki means “intelligently guided life energy”. Reiki is a great way to connect with your inner wisdom and a wonderful living meditation. It is an empowering healing art that anyone can learn. In Reiki practice, the universal source energy is transmitted through the giver to the receiver, using pure intention and awareness. Transmission of Reiki "reminds" the body, mind, and spirit of their natural state of being: balanced, integrated, peaceful, energetic, powerful and healthy.



A Reiki practitioner is only responsible for tapping and channeling universal energy – the practitioner does not deplete his or her own personal energy for healing – the energy does the healing, not the practitioner. There are no Reiki experts hence true Reiki skill comes from cultivating a beginner's mind and pure intentional awareness. Once the techniques are learned, Reiki energy guides each session intuitively.

Some of the commonly accepted Reiki precepts:

It heals the cause and eliminates the effect of the imbalance of energy.
It does not conflict with any religious beliefs.
It is an alternative, natural healing and helping method.
It can be combined with other healing methods.
It releases accumulated daily stress. It is an intelligent energy, which targets the area of greatest need.
It complements medical treatments, enhances medication & quickens healing time.

Breathing Workshop

Most people are unaware of the importance of breathing properly – and the majority of us only use a fraction of our breathing capacity. A combination of stress, poor posture, long hours behind desks, and flat-stomach phobia turns many people into "chest breathers" - people who expand only the upper chest when they inhale. Over time, breathing solely into the chest creates an imbalance in the oxygen/carbon dioxide ratio, resulting in low energy, feelings of anxiety and chronic psychosomatic disorders.

For optimal health, breathing should be full and rhythmic using the diaphragm and ribs to fill and empty the lungs. Proper breathing is governed primarily by the movement of the diaphragm. As it descends, the abdomen expands drawing fresh air in through the nose and into the lungs. Deep abdominal breathing promotes a full exchange of air, keeping the oxygen/carbon dioxide ratio balanced. Proper breathing can tone up your entire system and enhance health and vitality.

This workshop has something for everyone – from the absolute novice to the experienced yogi. By focusing on the inner workings of the breath and how it can heighten self-awareness and awareness of those around us, this workshop will help you soothe your busy life. Through breathing we find the ability to heal ourselves. Using the breath to move healing energy through the body we can boost our immune system, alleviate stressful emotions, headaches, neck and shoulder stress, back pain, joint pain and more.

Back Care Workshop


Learn how to use yoga to correct an imbalance in the flexibility and strength of the muscles that support your spine. This muscular imbalance contributes to and often causes back pain. We will practice restorative asanas to release muscular tension, work with poses to lengthen specific muscle groups and learn gentle strengthening poses. Special attention will be paid to core development as this is an often overlooked aspect of improving the condition of back health. You will learn to use mindful breathing to maximize your results. You will leave feeling better and with an understanding of techniques you can practice on your own for on-going health and strength of your spine.
