Before trying to run Easy Apache it is prudent to run the system maintenance to ensure all the package are updated before attempting to rebuild the web server. Please reference the most current or applicable WHM cPanel General Maintenance article in the above Knowledge Base.
Next you will want to ensure that there are not any user conflicts on the server, otherwise the httpd.conf file will not be built correctly. Please reference the most current or applicable WHM cPanel Repair User Ownership Conflicts article in the above Knowledge Base. Once completed then return to this article.
Once you have ensure the serer is updated then you will want to check that Easy Apache itself is also updated with the following command.
From here you should be able to run Easy Apache without error. However should it return with a failure you may need to reset the distiller. Generally this is not suggested unless you have already had one failure to rebuild.
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/apache_conf_distiller --reset --update
If you are a customer of ThePlanet.com or TouchSupport.com and have the security package installed you will want to check with them for additional information on the rebuild requirements. Most of the time they will suggest to rebuild with Mod Security, SuHosen, and Zend turned off. Once you have completed the rebuild to your satisfaction then return to them to have the security package reapplied.
If you are still having problems then you will want to start over by rebuilding Easy Apache and reset to the default options. If this build fails then you will need to check with the log files in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/easy/apache/ to find the exact error. Once you have a successful rebuild of the basic setting, then you can go back and rebuild with the advanced options.
