FIVE POINT SHOPPING CENTER

This shopping plaza opened in 1973. It used to be the biggest retail center in Biddeford until the Biddeford Gateway Center & Shops at Biddeford Crossing opened further south. The Five Point Shopping Center was anchored by Grant City. Rich’s department store replaced it after it closed. House of Fabrics closed in 1995. Rich's closed in 1997 when the chain went out of business. Staples subleased part of the former Rich's in June 1997.

Ninety-Nine opened a restaurant in the parking lot of the shopping center. Eventually, the entire shopping center was remodeled with a new style and a tower with a clock. A Buffet restaurant opened in the vacant section between Staples and the rest of the plaza. In 2008, Big Lots became the new anchor store and a Tim Hortons also opened in the parking lot of the plaza.

Tim Hortons eventually closed almost all locations in Southern Maine including the Biddeford store. In July 2018, the Sears Hometown store closed for good.
