Biography:
Dr. Shamsan was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Wireless Communication Center (WCC), Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia, (April 2010-April 2012). He obtained his PhD and Master from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia, in Electrical, Electronics, and Telecommunications Engineering in 2010 and 2007, respectively. Shamsan received the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in electronics and communication engineering from the Sudan University of Sciences and Technology (SUST), in 2002 (the 1st position in the class).
From Nov. 2003 to Dec. 2005, Shamsan has worked as a reader in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Taiz University, Yemen. From Jul. 2007 to Feb. 2010, Dr. Shamsan was an assistant researcher at WCC focusing on several research projects mainly in the field of frequency spectrum management funded by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), which is successfully completed in 2010. He received a Bronze Medal in Geneva Innovation 2021 for his project RFID Lock Security Mechanism. He has successfully completed many research projects as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI, funded by various research agencies and institutions in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. From 2012 to 2021, Prof Shamsan worked as a member of the international publishing unit (IPU) at the Deanship of Academic Research, IMSIU, and since 2021 he becomes the head of the IPU unit. In addition, He works as a consultant for the Deanship of Academic Research, IMSIU.
He is interested in teaching courses, such as electrical circuits analysis, wireless mobile communication, wireless mobile networks, digital communication, satellite communication, communication electronics, and digital signal processing. Prof. Shamsan translated the book of "MIMO-OFDM Wireless Communications with Matlab by YS Cho et al." into Arabic language. He has published several scientific papers in high-impact factor and archival technical journals and conferences. His research interests include LTE-Advanced systems (4G), 5G and 6G Systems, orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing technology (OFDM), LMDS system analysis,, interference analysis techniques, mathematical modeling for coexistence analysis in wireless networks, wave propagation propagation channel prediction and antenna, rainfall and dust storm analysis and mitigation, free space optics, and optical communication.
