Professor Yuri Dahnovsky has received his Bachelor and Masters degree from Moscow Institute for Physics and Technology and Ph. D. from Russian Academy of Sciences (The Institute of Chemical Physics, Moscow). He worked at different Institutes of Russian Academy of Sciences: The Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Karpov's Physical-Chemistry Institute, and Institute of Chemical Physics in Moscow (Russia). He also was a postdoctoral researcher at University of California at Santa Barbara, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, and Northwestern University. He worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Antioquia in Medellin in Colombia. His main interest now is in transport in tunneling junctions and recently, in quantum dot sensitized solar cells, nano-ferromagnetism, organic perovskites. For numerical calculations Yuri Dahnovsky uses nonequilibrium Green's functions and develops of new ab initio computational methods.
