MAAC YouthBuild Announcements

Mission Statement:
The goal of our YouthBuild program is to foster the empowerment and growth of low-income youth and communities that is based on respect, love, responsibility, and service to others.  YouthBuild creates opportunities for low-income youth to rebuild their communities and their lives by providing the education, job training, and skills that the youth need to fulfill this mission.  With the power and dedication of young people, YouthBuild develops marginalized communities through public service and by building a skilled youth workforce.

The big picture for you and your community:
MAAC’s YouthBuild Program for the 2011-2013 cycles is located in Logan Heights at the intersection of Commercial and 22nd Street.  The MAAC Project is a partner developer in a project called COMM 22, which seeks to develop the community through providing multi-generational housing units, retail and commercial space, and significant upgrades to the area’s infrastructure.  MAAC’s YouthBuild trainees will become an important asset to this project as they are being trained in construction competencies, job readiness skills, and community development.
