Google will select one first place winner, a second place winner and a third place winner based on the automated count of Google Earth accepted models by each Entrant.

Highest Scoring Individual Model: Entries will be scored via two phases of voting.

Phase 1:
Each entry will be judged by an internal panel of experts from Google ("Judges"), where up to 5 finalists will then be selected to be posted to the competition website for a public vote for the first prize winner in this category.

Each Entry will be evaluated by the Judges based on the following criteria:

Accuracy: Your Entry's scale, location and orientation must be as true-to-life as possible.

Photo-texturing: Entry must be completely phototextured with the Building Maker oblique imagery, but you may also use Street View and personal photos to enhance the photo texture quality of the model.

Detail: Add more detail to your Building Maker model by refining it in SketchUp.

Metadata: Add any additional text information about the modeled building.

Judges will evaluate and attribute a score to each Entry made up of scores based upon the above-listed criteria. Up to five (5) entries that receive the highest overall scores will be selected as the potential "Finalists." In the event of a tie, the Entry that received the higher score from the Judges in the category of "Detail" will be selected as one of the potential Finalists. In the event a potential Finalist is disqualified for any reason, the Entry that received the next highest total score will be chosen as the potential Finalist. Google will select one first place winner, a second place winner and a third place winner.
On or about August 13, 2011, the potential Finalists will be selected and notified by email, at Sponsor's discretion. If a potential Finalist does not respond to the notification attempt within 3 days from the first notification attempt, then such potential Finalist will be disqualified and an alternate potential Finalist will be selected from among all eligible entries received based on the judging criteria described herein. With respect to notification by telephone, such notification will be deemed given when the potential Finalist engages in a live conversation with Sponsor or when a message is left on the potential Finalist's voicemail service or answering machine by the Sponsor, whichever occurs first. Except where prohibited by law, each potential Finalist may be required to sign and return a Declaration of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release and provide any additional information that may be required by Sponsor. If required, potential Finalists must return all such required documents within 15 days following attempted notification or such potential Finalist will be deemed to have forfeited the prize and another potential Finalist will be selected based on the judging criteria described herein. In the event the potential Finalist is a minor, his or her parent or legal guardian must sign the documents and return them as described herein. All notification requirements, as well as other requirements within these Rules, will be strictly enforced.

Phase 2:
Phase 2 of judging will occur on or about August 15, 2011 through August 19, 2011. Up to five (5) entrants selected as Finalists will be evaluated by public voters based on same criteria below:

(2) visual appeal

(3) photo-texturing and low-polygon count, as described on the Contest website

(4) accuracy

(5) completeness of texturing and geometry

The voters will evaluate and vote for their favorite entry based upon the above-listed criteria. Voters are allowed to select one entry, but may change their vote. The Finalist's Entry that receives the highest volume of votes in the final round will be selected as the potential First Prize Winner. In the event of a tie, the Finalist's Entry that received the higher score from the initial round of judging by the Judges in the category of "Detail" will be selected as the potential First Prize winner.

On or about August 20, 2011, the potential First Prize Winner will be selected and notified by telephone and/or email, at Sponsor's discretion. If the potential First Prize Winner does not respond to the notification attempt within 10 days from the first notification attempt, then such potential First Prize Winner will be disqualified and an alternate potential First Prize Winner will be selected from among the remaining Finalists based on the judging criteria described herein. In the event a potential First Prize Winner is disqualified for any reason, the Finalist's Entry that received the next highest total score will be chosen as the First Prize Winner.
