About the course leaders

Julie Roberts is a Humanistic counsellor with over 24 years’ experience and a previous background in Mental Health. Julie has been training counsellors since 2004 and is qualified to MSc Level in Counselling.  She lectured for 7 years at Hull College on the Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) in Counselling and for 9 years at the University of Hull on courses ranging from introductory level to Foundation Degree in Counselling.  She works as a counsellor in private practice and is also an experienced counselling supervisor with a Post Graduate qualification in Person-Centred Supervision and Post Graduate Certificate in Education. 

Jayne Godward is a Person-Centred counsellor and supervisor with a background in nursing and social sciences. Jayne has been training people to become counsellors since 2006 and has taught in the counselling skills field since 1994. Until recently she was a senior lecturer at Leeds Beckett University for 8 years and an external examiner for several universities.  She holds an MA in Psychological Therapies and Post Graduate Supervision Qualification.

Both tutors have taught up to BA (Hons) level in Counselling Practice and have had a wide experience of facilitating groups and teaching counselling in Further and Higher Education.
