Introductory Rides 2019

Ever fancied the idea of cycling with a social group on a Sunday but been put off perhaps by not
having ridden in a club before, or by worrying you’ll get left behind. Or maybe you just fancy a
shorter or slower ride with us?

For the second year York Rouleurs are running introductory rides aimed at those who want to try us
out. We will run these rides on the second Sunday of each month until the autumn. The rides will
follow a shorter route than our usual weekly Sunday morning rides. We’d expect that many people
who try us out will want to move into the weekly Sunday rides in due course, and that many of our
regular riders will join our shorter rides occasionally when they want to take things easy.

Just turn up at 9.00am outside Cycle Heaven on Hospital Field Road (YO10 4FS). We’ll leave after a
short pep talk about riding in a group. We’ll then aim to ride 30 to 40km at a pace that will be
matched to the speed of those who turn up (typically 19-24 km/h or 12-15 mph). The group will be
run by experienced YRCC cyclists, who will make sure no one races ahead, and no one gets left
behind. We’ll try to get around without stopping so we can get back to the café at Cycle Heaven
before noon where we will join our other Sunday morning groups for coffee, cake, or a late
