Research Interests
Body mechanics
The MNSBL researchers try to understand a human body for building better bodies, one part at a time. Working across disciplines (e.g., mechanics, cellular and tissue biology, and nano/microelectromechanical systems (N/MEMS)), researchers are developing engineering solutions ranging from disease diagnostics to artificial organs. These advances hold the potential to improve quality of life for millions of people.

Bioinspired engineering
The MNSBL researchers are gaining ever-deepening insights into the way that living systems form and function to create new life-enhancing materials and devices. Researchers in bioinspired engineering are studying the knowledge that can lead to more creativity in mechanical design and to advanced (simpler, smaller, more sustainable) solutions than with conventional technology.

Human-machine interface (HMI)
The MNSBL researchers are developing human-machine interface (i.e., machine that can communicate with human). HMI aims to improve the interactions between human and machine by making the machine more usable and receptive to human' needs.
