Currently, I serve as a Distinguished Researcher at Huawei Technologies Canada, where I lead the team to develop cutting-edge technology for Huawei Cloud AI infrastructure. Prior to joining Huawei, I was a postdoctoral research fellow at Stanford University from October 2014 to July 2016, after completing my Ph.D. in Operations Research at Simon Fraser University。
My research endeavors cover a broad spectrum of disciplines but are particularly focused on the following areas:
Leading a team to build cost-efficient, cloud-native AI pipelines for post-training (SFT/RL) and inference. I've significantly slashed operational overhead while contributing to open-source heavyweights like AReaL, vLLM-Ascend and RLinf.
Deploying LLMs to solve high-stakes challenges in operations research, analytical databases, and massive data ecosystems.
Advancing responsible AI by researching cutting-edge model watermarking and federated learning techniques to ensure security and privacy.
