Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10: 19-23
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and keep me from anything evil that might cause me pain!” So God granted him what he requested. 1 Chronicles 4: 10.
"A Healing Prayer for Past Hurts"
Lord Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, go back into my Past memory today. There has been a number of years that things have hurt me. Troubled my heart and soul. Every hurt that has ever been done to me in my body or my emotions, please heal those hurts. Every hurt that I have knowingly or unknowingly caused to another person, bring healing to that hurt too. Also heal the hurts that I knowingly did. Help me to remember them so that I may ask for healing to take place.
Please Lord, give me strength to look at those memories with courage. Lord, if there is anything that I need to do, show me. If I need to go to another person because they are still suffering from my part, let me become aware of that person in my memory. As I do remember, help me to be humble and ask for forgiveness. I choose to "forgive" the hurts that are done to me. My tongue will say that I forgive, please make my mind and heart come into line with your Word.
I also ask to be forgiven of the sins and wrongs that I have done. Please remove whatever bitterness and unforgiveness may still be in my heart, Lord. I don't need to walk around with that in my life. Fill me with your love and peace. Let me see my brothers and sisters through your eyes Jesus, not mine. Let me look at everyone with all of the Love that I can.
Help me to put a guard over my mouth everyday, so that I may always glorify you. Let me be a true Christian witness of your love in me.
Please help me to bring about healing in the hearts of all that I see throughout my days. I love you Lord so much and I am grateful to you
because you love me. You make me feel special and at peace.
Thank you Lord. Father, I ask it in Jesus name. Amen
Catholic Prayers: Prayer for Healing the Family Tree
Heavenly Father, I come before You as Your child, in great need of Your help. I have physical health needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs, and interpersonal needs. Many of my problems have been caused by my own failures, neglect and sinfulness, for which I humbly beg Your forgiveness, Lord. But I also ask You to forgive the sins of my ancestors whose failures have left their effects on me in the form of unwanted tendencies, behavior patterns and defects in body, mind and spirit. Heal me, Lord, of all these disorders. With Your help I sincerely forgive everyone, especially living or dead members of my family tree, who have directly offended me or my loved ones in any way, or those whose sins have resulted in our present sufferings and disorders. In the name of Your divine Son Jesus, and in the power of His Holy Spirit, I ask You, Father, to deliver me and my entire family tree from the influence of the evil one. Free all living and dead members of my family tree, including those in adoptive relationships, and those in extended family relationships, from every contaminating form of bondage. By Your loving concern for us, heavenly Father, and by the shed blood of your Precious Son Jesus, I beg You to extend Your blessing to me and all my living and deceased relatives. Heal every negative effect transmitted through all past generations, and prevent such negative effects in future generations of my family tree. I symbolically place the Cross of Jesus over the head of each person in my family tree, and between each generation; I ask You to let the cleansing blood of Jesus purify the blood lines in my family lineage. Set Your protective angels to encamp around us, and permit Archangel Raphael, the patron of healing, to administer Your divine healing power to all of us, even in areas of genetic disability. Give special power to our family members' guardian angels to heal, protect, guide and encourage each of us in all our needs. Let Your healing power be released at this very moment and let it continue as long as Your sovereignty permits. In our family tree, Lord, replace all bondage with a holy bonding in family love. And let there be an ever deeper bonding with You, Lord, by the Holy Spirit, to Your Son Jesus. Let the family of the Holy Trinity pervade our family with its tender, warm, loving presence, so that our family may recognize and manifest that love in all our relationships.
All of our unknown needs we include with this petition
that we pray in Jesus precious Name. Amen.
[ Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F. ]
From Benedict XVI's 1st Homily From Cathedral of Rome . . .
"In the Eucharist, we ourselves learn the love of Christ."
"Thanks to this center and heart, thanks to the Eucharist, the saints have lived, bringing the love of God to the world in ever new forms and ways. Thanks to the Eucharist, the Church is always reborn. The Church is no more than that network -- the Eucharistic community! -- in which all of us,
by receiving the same Lord, become only one body and embrace the whole world. To preside in doctrine and love, in the end, must be only one thing: all the doctrine of the Church, in the end, leads to love. And the Eucharist, as the present love of Jesus Christ, is the criterion of all doctrine. On love depend all the law and the prophets, says the Lord (Matthew 22:40). Love is the fulfillment of the law, wrote St. Paul to the Romans (13:10)." May 10, 2005
From Benedict XVI's First Statement . . .
"I ask all to intensify over the next months their love and devotion to Jesus in the Eucharist and to express in a courageous and clear way their faith in the Lord's real presence".
Praying in tongues is a common gift of prayer by which we can surrender our voice and thoughts to God. It has often been called 'spirit-language' that helps to focus completely on God and allow the inner self, the true heart of a person to more readily give voice to adoring, praising and worshipping God.
Speaking in Tongues in Scripture: There are two kinds;
One type is mentioned in four verses of Acts Chapter 2: verse 4,6,8,11: "They begun to speak other languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak;" "the crowd was exited because each heard them speaking in his own native language", and the disciples were all Galilean!
Most people would say that the great miracle of Pentecost has never happened again in the Church, or has it? The language of "joy" is understood by anybody. If you love someone, he or she will understand you, no matter what language is spoken, even if it is German or Russian or Chinese or Japanese. The languages of "joy", and "love", and "peace", are understood by everyone, and they are probably the greatest miracles of all times.
The other kind of speaking in tongues is one of the nine gifts of the Spirit mentioned three times in 1Cor.12:10,28,30, and explained again in 1Cor.14:1-33, where the gift to "speak in tongues" or "praying in tongues" is mentioned twelve times. It is the only one of the nine gifts of the Spirit given "to strengthen us personally, as an individual", and we all need to strengthen ourselves at all times! (1Cor.14:4)
All the other eight charismatic gifts are for service, to strengthen the Church (1Cor.12:7).
St. Paul talks about the Charismatic gifts in the First Letter to the Corinthians Chapters 12 and 14, but in between them, in Chapter 13, he proclaims "love" as the greatest gift, a language that anybody can understand, and without it, all the other gifts are worthless.
