Welcome to my Gallery!

I began painting on porcelain in Paris, France over 15 years ago and studied classic Sèvres and Meissen painting, including course work at the Musée National de Céramique-Sèvres. I now enjoy experimenting and creating works of my own. I paint each piece by hand and fire it in one of my kilns at up to 1600 degrees. At that temperature the paint and ceramic surface fuse so that the color becomes a permanent part of the porcelain. Depending on the complexity of the painting and the desired color, the cycles of painting and firing range from three to over a dozen for each piece. I currently teach and paint at my home studio in Vienna, Virginia. I also create custom art, so if you have a special request or occasion that you would like to discuss, please feel free to contact me at yokofm@gmail.com.

Enjoy your visit!
