Dr. Ibuka is Associate Professor at Tohoku University Department of Economics. Her research interests are economic analysis of health and medical interventions, including policy evaluations and studies of individuals' health behavior, aiming to optimize policies. Her research utilizes both statistical or econometric-based empirical approach and simulation method with epidemiological modeling.
Dr. Ibuka received a Ph.D. in Economics from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in May 2008, and M.A.and B.A. in Economics from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan. Following completion of her degree, she obtained post-doctoral training in Dr. Galvani's group at Yale University School of Public Health. Prior to the current position, she was an assistant professor at Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of Economics and School of International and Public Policy and an associate professor at Kyoto University Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
