Yoga Therapy Certification
Every human being is unique. Each individual is a self-organizing being. Each structure has one's own development. One has to know the whole (Samasti) to know the individual part (Vyasti). The Yogic approach therefore provides a more comprehensive and meaningful training as it is complete and whole.
Institute of Classical Yoga & Therapy (ICYT) is dedicated to Yoga & Total Health treating the whole person. Classical Yoga Therapy program is an education and yoga sadhana (practice) of classical yoga concepts. It is designed to apply yogic procedures for managing psychosomatic, psychogenic disorders and their influence on the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, endocrine, gastrointestinal, respiratory and other systems.
Some of the techniques included in Yoga Sadhana change in state of mind (Yoga Vicara), Healthy Routines (Yogachara and Vihara), Diet (Yogahara), Education of the physical (Asana), Respiratory Practices (Pranayama), Yoga Hygiene (Kriyas), Psychosomatic Practices (Mudras), Meditation, Chanting. The emphasis is on treating the whole, promoting total health, longevity and prevention of diseases.
A diligent study of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and kinesiology help lay a solid foundation for Classical Yoga Therapy. Methodology to communicate with medical specialists and personnel is included. Opportunities for practicum, clinical internship, and mentoring will be made available.
Yoga Education, Yoga Philosophy, Yoga Psychology will be practically applied throughout the program as a Yoga Sadhana in order to build a strong foundation and creating awareness.
Course Duration: 1145 hours over 3 years (1st year), (2nd year) and (3rd year) Classical Yoga Therapist Certification.
Registration: Participants register per year.
Prerequisites: Yoga Teachers Advanced Certificate 500 hours . A personal interview is required for everyone.
Schedule 1st year:
Every Wednesday, Friday and second Sunday of the month.
Time 7:00pm - 9:00pm Wednesdays & Fridays
7:00am - 12:00pm Sunday
Course starts September 18, 2019 through August 2020.
