Bariton / Yao Ying- jen
Ying-Jen Yao was borned in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He received his master degree for voice from the Tunghai University.
He has studied with Chung-Fa Wang and Jung-Kuang Chen, currently he studies with SyouFen Lee.
He was awarded several prizes, including 2007newartinc’s young artist prize,
2005Association of Vocal Artists of R.O.C’s young artist prize,
2004 Taipei Philharmonic Foundation for Culture and Education’s young artist prize,
and 2003Third Prize of 1st Chung Shan Singing Competition.
He has joined the performances of Die Zauberflote, Cosi fan tutte, La Serva Padrona, The Legend of Yaoji, La Sonnambula, Die Fledermaus, L'Elisir D'Amore, Gianni Schicchi, and has been the baritone soloist in Handel’s Israel in Egypt, Judas Maccabaeus; Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Requiem, Mass in C minor; Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 Choral, and J.S. Bach’s Magnificat, Faure's Requiem, Brukner's Te Deum.
Currently Yao directs the Choruses of Huiwen Senior High School and the Affiliated High School of Tunghai University, Taichung, and the Kaohsiung Medical University Singers. He also teaches in the music programs of Gung-guan Junior High School and Gung-guan Elementary School. And he is the member of the Opera Studio sponsored by NTCH.
