Amidst delivering Circus Nativity events across the region, Daryll squeezed in a morning with the secretary of Churches Together in Harrogate and the delivery of WYEC's Unity Post to 34 churches on Sunday 18 January, catching up with Paul & Sheelagh Easby en route. Holy Kapow! continued to grow, playing to venues across the region, including Bradford, Garforth, Leeds, Shipley and York; a typical schedule:

2008
With contributions from Mark McKnight, Centre staff worker, Harrogate YfC led assemblies at St Aidan's, Harrogate Ladies College and Ashville during November in 2007 as well as supporting CUs. Mark gave a ten minute testimony at the gig organised by St Aidan's CU with bands Plus and The Steels on 14 December 2007. Mark joined YfC on Monday 18 June 2007 for eight months before choosing to move on and explore other works in February 2008.
November: the opening moments at the 2008 AGM with Daryll Hackett, UCA colleagues Alex and Josh plus others drawn from the crowd defying gravity and exciting all.September: Harrogate YfC Trustees appoint Daryll Hackett of Urban Circus Arts to develop the Holy Kapow! ministry and YfC's youth work in this area.February: Harrogate YfC Trustees start to invite Associate workers, welcoming God's gifting and passion by supporting them financially and with materials in local evangelistic projects and initiatives including school assemblies, CUs and special projects.Sunday evenings from 27 January: the seven week Art of Connecting course continues, run by Stuart McCormack with Mark McKnight.The YfC lighting rig has supported various productions and events including the YFяiday concert on 19 January and the Harrogate New Life concert on 22 January.Worship in Schools: the Trustees of Harrogate and district YfC continue to work with a United Gigs team developing worship workshops aimed at helping schools develop worship in assemblies, with input from YFяiday, the Sion Community and many others. Also listed on the United Gigs website, the event was very sdaly cancelled at the last moment.
2007
17 October 2007 YfC Leadership Team Tour visited Harrogate: an informal day of news and info sharing with training input and future developments. A two-way sharing day for youth work and the YfC national team.The Trustees of Harrogate and district YfC were delighted to work with Churches Together in Harrogate to bring Graham Kendrick to the Conference Centre on the 'Out of the Ordinary' tour on Friday 28 September 2007. The flyer was supported by an e-card. The tour featured Graham's involvment with the child sponsoring charity Compassion. Tickets £10 were on sale from 21 July 2007 at Harrogate International Centre Box Office (01423 537230)
YfC sponsored a small group to the Worship Academy on Saturday 23 June 2007, at the Castlegate Centre (Melbourne Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2JQ with Tim Hughes, Terl Bryant, Shell Perris and YFяiday. Also listed on the United Gigs website with flyer. Mark McKnight was welcomed at St Mary's, Harrogate, supporting the Rock Solid group.
2006
With the support of Church House Trust in Harrogate, YfC adds to its Resource Centre with a gig lighting rig, used at United Gigs events including the World Cup Football final. The Trustees met at the end of July to finalise details to advertise for a new Centre Director; first trawl completed in November. The search continues.
The work of YfC supporting ecumenical youth work grows. Our resource centre includes a gig lighting rig, funded by Church House Trust and available for any church event in Harrogate.
2004
It has been used at various United Gigs events in 2006, including the World Cup Final football party at Christ Church on 9 July 2006 and a concert with The Steels, supported by local singer songwriter Hannah Timmis, on 21 October. The first trawl to recruit a new Centre Director brought good interest, but our favoured candidate has accepted another post. The search goes on.The Council of Reference met on Wednesday 11 January 2006 at HYPeR, working through the plans for 2006.The Partners Newsletter for October can be viewed as Adobe Acrobat files via our contacts page. Many thanks to all who came to the AGM on Thursday 24 November 2005 at HYPeR. A warm welcome to Richard Marjoribanks as he takes the helm as chair of the Trustees.
The prayer asking God to send labourers into the vineyard continues, some beseeching and others waiting on our heavenly Father's hand, like a maid to her lady's hand. The Trustees and friends of Harrogate and District YfC continue to lift their eyes to heaven, watching.
2005
The Trustees carry the vision on, finding the needs continue to grow across the schools and community. Harrogate YfC offers financial support to school CUs and continues to United Gigs events. Closer work with Churches Together sees launch of schools page on CT website, summarising where the wider Church is involved with the secondary schools across the area. God continues to nudge.
In 2005, Harrogate YfC provided the funding for Christian rock band YFяiday at the United Gigs concert on 4 March at St Peter's church as well as providing a telephone and postal ticket sales point. Further developments in 2005, include provision of a cash fund to support the resourcing of school Christian Union works.
A database of faith links with the schools in the area is being done in conjunction with Churches Together in Harrogate. Further resourcing initiatives are in the pipeline. As the summer of 2005 passes, the Trustees and members of the Exec continue to respond to requests for help. Events include speaking engagements at St Aidan's senior CU and the Summerbridge Youth service, synergistic networking and providing links across schools and churches are helping to re-oil the wheels of the YfC work in these towns.
Schools work continues at Rossett and King James, with CU input at Harrogate Ladies college. Finances scrape too low for too long and the trustees are left with no option but to offer redundancy to Andy, our youth worker. Much prayer about the future of Harrogate YfC; the vision is still undying but the means to live it out are scarce.Closer ties with United Gigs and HYPeR result in prophetic move to unite all three ecumenical youth works' administration in the one office. The move from Community House occurs magically over Christmas.
2003
United Gigs first concert with 'As if' plays at Christ Church parish centre in the Spring, with YFяiday, supported by Steel Machine, playing at St Mark's on 10 October. Christian music comes of age in Harrogate. Declining finances at YfC leave the Exec struggling to make ends meet. Andy becomes senior youth worker and sole team member.
2002
United Gigs team with Pippa Carter, Catherine Foster, Karin Shaw & Andy Wilson muse how to bring Christian bands to Harrogate. Mick Leach has passed on the chairman's mantel to Bob Heathcote.
2001
Paul Gander joins as second worker especially on Broadacre and Stockwell estates; Rossett school work develops. Churches in Harrogate take on paid youth workers. Activate team run schools mission in March.
2000
The director post is offered to Andy Wilson who starts on 1 June. Activate team at work in spring with concert in Constance Green hall; Katherine and Phil join the team. Planning meetings with schools and Rock Solid programme starts.
1999Working on the focus of the vision. Granby school lessons, Tembu at Rossett, Ashville requesting assembly input, some struggling with 'non-religious' nature of the style. YfC gig at St Aidan's school. Colleen Scruton arrives as administrator who requests a new computer. Rapture's first event using Constance Green with bands Breeze and OLB. John and Kerry Dade move to Chesterfield, and Tembu moves on, marrying Helen in Scotland. Mick Leach becomes chairman and Karin moves on in October.
1998Hardy discipleship group attracts those aged 15-20. Anna joins the team from National YfC, working on Operation Gideon, school CUs, Laser Warehouse and Sparks youth groups. Youth leaders' forum; district prayer day and schools work continues at Rossett and St Aidan's. Tembu Rongong joins as a volunteer. Family days at St John Fisher school.
1997Andrew Clarke steps down as chairman, replaced by John Dade. Paul and Sheelagh Easby move to Sheffield to commence training with Church Army. Mick continues schools work on drugs. Karin Gough (marrying Graham Shaw) joins as director from Saltmine Theatre Company.
'Hardy is 10', Mel leaves for university leaving Mick as the surviving team member, himself moving on at the end of the year.

James Sharratt becomes full time worker; Stockwell and schools work continues. Mega-mix, Activate Mission, Pannal Methodist youth club. Eternal Streetlamps disbands; three days of prayer. A Glimpse of Hope album published.
1994Primary school work flourishes with Elaine Timmis and Helen Yarborough. Rossett CU starts; Rob Frost leads 'On Fire' at the Royal Hall. Good Friday in the amphitheatre at Victoria Gardens. Activate team involved in schools mission week. Eternal Streetlamps concerts in Harrogate and Knaresborough. Children's holiday club draws 150 children. March for Jesus prayer concert; Pannal youth club.
1993
Good Friday drama in the rain - and no trip to Spring Harvest! A renewal day at Ampleforth; a youth service at St John's, Bilton. March for Jesus in June. Eternal Streetlamps album 'Could it be true?' published and play in Ripon. Dr Mick Leach giving time to help with schools work. Lowell Shepperd joins the celebrations, Andy's at 8 with 230 people.
1992
Andy's at 8 services continue; excellent times at Prayer for Revival meeting. Mixed times of encouragement are concern at Stockwell and further street work in Knaresborough; links with St James', Wetherby. Paul taking lessons at the AAC, and new volunteer workers join in September.
1991Moving onto different things: Paul busy on Starbeck and Sheelagh involved in many schools, counseling Christian young people; the Easby family move to St Andrew's after Spring Harvest. Eternal Streetlamps becoming well known; Prayer for Revival events; Billy Graham Live-Link; Andy's at 8 developing. March for Jesus in September; Neil working part time in St Mary's parish.
1990Easter celebration - Homegrown, at the Baptist church hall. Streetwise team draws members from across the country. September March for Jesus; Question Time and youth services at St Andrew's, Starbeck.
1989Strengthening the Centre with input from Cleobury Place (National HQ). Good Friday March of Witness, a coach load to Spring Harvest at Skegness. Schools work included Pateley Bridge and Queen Ethelburga's. Reach Out team loses members to university. Christmas Cracker restaurant raises £5,347.38.
1988HardY FC celebrations, prayer concerts, and the '... up for adoption' leaflet. James Sharratt brings a guitar in answer to prayer. March for Jesus in Harrogate, and a Mission week. The Exec roles were sorted with Andrew Clarke as Chairman, Tina on publicity, Rosie to liaise with churches, Caroline as prayer and minutes secretary. Sheelagh was to be in charge of co-ordinating the counseling. Progress was made to help Paul & Sheelagh go full time.
1987Schools mission weeks in March April and May. Exec met on 22 July 1987 and first celebration at Bilton Youth Club on 19 September with 100+ hearing Sheelagh Easby speaking on Zacchaeus. First Newsletter published October.
