Welcome to the archive pages of Harrogate and district Youth for Christ - provided for historic research. Links may be out of date or broken.
These pages provide a brief look at the work from its birth in 1987 to the closure of the Centre in July 2009, from the Eternal Streetlamps and YfC's small synergistic contribution to the Out of the Ordinary tour to its work supporting the launch of Holy Kapow! - with a collection of pictures and stories over those 22 years.
sponsored by national YfC around the year 2000 as an interactive installation for spiritual journeys. It's for anyone who wants a break from surfing the surface of culture to contemplate the deeper things of life. The YfC labyrinth reshapes a 12th-century ritual for the 21st century. Its maze-like path takes you on a symbolic journey, creates space to unwind and think - in particular about our relationships with ourselves, one another, our planet and with God. Designed for young and old alike, it provides a mixture of rituals and visuals, of contemplative words and contemporary ambient music, of symbols and media to help guide the spiritual traveller.
There's also a page of links to Christian youth organisations in the area around Harrogate, North Yorkshire, along with links to some of the many Christian ministries with which we've had the privilege of serving and working alongside.
Harrogate YfC has been delighted to have had the opportunity to support the launch and development of Holy Kapow! in 2008 and 2009. Within months, the shows and presentations had been seen by several thousand young people across the region. Daryll moved on from the post of director of Harrogate YfC in 2009, going with our love, prayers and blessings as he and his team further develop the provoking and inspiring message of the Circus Arts ministry.
