The University of Arizona (U of A) is a higher education and research focused institution in the U.S. The Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the U of A offers a friendly study environment and the excellent facilities to students. Over 100 graduate students are currently enrolled in the department.

The transportation engineering program is constantly expanding and growing. Dr. Yao-Jan Wu, assistant professor of civil engineering, and also the director of the Smart Transportation Lab. We are recruiting PhD or MS students with advanced computing skills and strong motivation.

Qualifications

· Background: The successful candidates are expected to have a M.S. or B.S. degree in

o Civil Engineering,

o Transportation Engineering/Planning,

o Electrical Engineering,

o Computer Science/Engineering,

o Automation/Mechanical Engineering,

o Control Science and Engineering,

o System/Industrial Engineering or Mathematics.

· Strong Interests in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) (transportation engineering + IT) Please find more academic details on Dr. Wu's website.

· Strong computer programming and communication skills are desirable.
