RESEARCH INTERESTS

A major obstacle for visual systems to overcome is that natural images are highly ambiguous, in the sense that every image may have arisen from an infinite combination of possible 3-D arrangements of shapes, surface colours, and light sources.  My research interests are in how biological visual systems seem to effortlessly deal with this challenge. To explore these issues, I use a combination of psychophysical methods, neural modelling, and computational modelling.  Please see my publications for more details.
