Yang Li was born in Wuhan, China, in 1984. He received the B.S. degree in telecommunication engineering and M.S. degree in electromagnetic field and microwave technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, in 2006 and 2008, respectively, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, in 2012. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with Mazur Group, Harvard University. His research interests include metamaterials and photonic crystalslinear and nonlinear nanophotonicsfemtosecond laser microfabrication, microwave nondestructive evaluation (NDE), analytical and numerical methods for electromagnetics, antennas and antenna arrays, and microwave remote sensing.
He received the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Doctoral Research Award in 2011 and was nominated for R. W. P. King Award in 2013. (The R. W. P. King Award is presented to an author under 36 years of age for the best paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation during the previous year)
