I am a Research Engineer at Google DeepMind, focusing on Reinforcement Learning for language models, and robust evaluation of AI systems. I joined Google Research in December 2021 and moved to DeepMind in June 2024 as part of the integration of Google Brain/Research and DeepMind. From 2021 to 2023, I was a key contributor to the design and implementation of Google Scholar's first neural-based system for paper recommendation and indexing. Since October 2023, my work has centered on Google Gemini, specifically on the development, improvement, and red-teaming of Reward Models and Verifiers.
Prior to my industry experience, I held a Lecturer (Assistant Professor equivalent) position at Royal Holloway University of London (2019-2021). My academic career also includes a postdoctoral fellowship at TU Darmstadt (2017-2019) in the Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing (UKP) Lab under the supervision of Prof. Iryna Gurevych, an Assistant Professorship at Chinese Academy of Sciences (2015-2017), and doctoral research at Imperial College London (2011-2015) in the Computing, Logic and Argumentation (CLArg) Lab with Prof. Francesca Toni. For further details please refer to my CV.
