3. Select "Account Info." You'll find this at the bottom of the menu.
You can also visit yahoo.com/account if you are having problems with the menu.
4. Click the "Account security" menu. You'll find this listed on the left side of the Account Info page.
5. Enter your password. You'll need to enter your password in order to proceed to the Account Security page. If you password is saved in your browser, you can usually just double-click the password field to select it.
If you don't remember your password, see the next section.
6. Click the "Change password" link. You'll find this at the top of the "Account security" page.
7. Create a new password. You'll need to enter the password twice to confirm it. Your password change will take effect immediately, and you'll be signed out of all of your connected devices.
Make sure you create a unique password for your email account that you don't use anywhere else.
8. Sign in with your new password. You'll need to sign back into Yahoo! Mail on any of the devices or programs you were signed in on. For example, if you have your Yahoo! account added to your iPhone, you'll need to enter your new password in the Mail, Contacts, Calendars section of the iPhone's Settings app. The process for logging back in will vary depending on the device or program.
Changing Your Password (Mobile)
1. Open the Yahoo! Mail website on your mobile device. You can change your password directly from the Yahoo! Mail website on your mobile device.
If you're using the Yahoo! Mail mobile app, you'll need to open the Yahoo! Mail website in your mobile browser to change your password. You cannot change your password through the mobile app.
2. Log in with your Yahoo! account. You'll need to be logged in with your Yahoo! account before you can change the password for it.

I Forgot My Yahoo Mail Password
1. Visit the Yahoo! account recovery website. If you don't remember your password, or you are locked out of your account, visit https://login.yahoo.com/forgot? to start the account recovery process.
The process for this is the same for desktop and mobile devices.
2. Enter your Yahoo! email address or phone number. The phone number will need to have been previously associated with the account. You cannot add a phone number if you don't have access to the account.
If you have a recovery email address associated with your account, you can enter it instead.
3. Choose how to receive your Account Key. If you have a phone number or recovery email address associated with your account, you can have a code texted or emailed to you. This code will allow you to change your account's password.
If you're not attempting the reset from a known browser, you may be prompted to answer security questions before receiving an Account Key. You may also be asked about people in your contacts list, or asked to enter an old password.
If you don't have a phone number or recovery email associated with your account, or no longer have access to the ones that are, you will not be able to recover your account. Yahoo! is not able to provide phone support and reset your password, so you'll have to create a new account.
4. Enter the code you receive. After a few moments, you'll receive either a text on your phone or an email in your recovery account with a code to enter into the Yahoo! account recovery page. Enter this code and you'll be taken to the password creation page.
5. Create a new password. Enter your new password twice to confirm it. Creating a new password will sign you out of all of your connected devices.
Your password should be unique to Yahoo! Mail. Using the same password for multiple accounts is a major security risk.
6. Sign in with your new password. Now that you've created a new password, you can use it to sign into Yahoo! Mail. You'll need to sign back in for all of your connected devices or programs, such as Outlook or your Android phone. The process for changing account information varies depending on your device.
It's a familiar scene: You know you might have an important message waiting for you in your Yahoo! Mail account—but you can't seem to get your password right. If you have not also forgotten the answers to your secret questions, or if you have a secondary email address added to your Yahoo! Mail account, you can fix the forgotten-password conundrum in short order. Yahoo! won't actually send you your password; rather, you'll be directed to reset it.
This entails a couple of extra steps, but it's a more secure solution.
To reset your forgotten Yahoo! Mail password and restore access to your account:
Open the Yahoo! Sign-in Helper page.
Enter your Yahoo! Mail email address or your phone number. Tip: You don't have to include the "@yahoo.com" part of your email address.
Click Continue. Yahoo! Mail's sign-in helper will now walk you through the options.
If you have a mobile number associated with the account and can access text messages received there:
Click Yes, text me an Account Key under Do you have access to this phone?. If you're unable to receive or see text messages at that number, make sure you choose I don't have access to this phone so you get other options for resetting your forgotten Yahoo! Mail password.
You'll receive an account key by text within a couple minutes. Enter it under Verify that you have this phone.
If you have a secondary email address associated with your Yahoo!
Click Yes, send me an Account Key under Do you have access to this email?. If you suspect somebody may be reading your email or if you cannot receive messages at the address anymore, click I don't have access to this email instead.
Type the account key you got by email under Verify that you have access to this email.
If you do not have access to either a secondary email address or phone number, Yahoo! may ask you for other information to verify your identity, such as contacts in your Yahoo! Mail address book.
Once you have successfully recovered access to your account, you can change the Yahoo! Mail password to whatever you like (and will remember); it is best, of course, to use a strong email password.
If the Automated Process Fails
If you have run out of options for Yahoo! Mail to verify your account automatically, there is very little you can do without additional help from Yahoo!. You can try posting about your situation to the Yahoo! Help Community, where Yahoo! employees gather information

If you're sure that you're entering the correct sign-in information, there are a few scenarios as to why this might be happening.
If your password contains numbers or letters, make sure that your caps lock or number lock keys are activated or deactivated as needed. Case-sensitive passwords are often entered incorrectly due to key stroke sensitivity.
Take a look at your browser's auto-fill settings. If your browser usually enters your password for you automatically, and you've changed your password recently, you'll need to enter your new password manually to override your browser settings.
If you're sure that you're entering the correct information, this could be a sign that someone else has accessed your account and changed your password. You should change your password immediately using the Password Helper tool. Once you regain access to your account, review the steps to secure a hacked account to undo any changes made without your knowledge.
