NJ Ultra Festival - March 19, 2011
Trail Races of Marathon, 50K, 50M, 100K and 100M

Race Start times:
100 Mile - 4:00am
100 Kilometer - 5:00am
50 Mile - 6:00am
50 Kilometer - 7:00am
Marathon - 8:00am
All races must be completed by Sunday 10:00am. You will need to leave on your last 25 mile loop by 1:30am on Sunday March 20th.
The race course is in the shape of a T. The course starts at Ort Farms and follows Patriots' Path for 1.25 miles then connects to Columbia Trail. The course then follows the Columbia Trail in an out and back for 7.5 miles in one direction then 15 miles in an out and back in the other direction and then the 1.25 miles back to Ort Farms for a total of 25 miles per loop.
For the Marathon, 50K and 100K the first loop will be adjusted to the correct length to allow all runners to then continue on the full 25 mile loop for the rest of their race.
Schedule of events:
Friday, March 18 - Ort Farms, Long Valley NJ
2:00pm - Ort Farms opens. You can pick your spot, set up your tent and settle in.
3:00pm - Packet pickup (until 7pm). You will receive your goody bag, bib.
5:00pm - Race Briefing (Optional). Short pre-race meeting by the race director.
5:30pm - Pasta dinner (until 7pm). Optional meal ($10) provided by Long Valley Presbyterian Church, across the street from Ort Farms. Crews, pacers, and family are welcome to join by pre purchasing a $10 ticket or at the door.
Saturday, March 19 - Ort Farms
3:45am - Last minute pre race briefing by race director
4:00am - Start of 100 Mile Race, light will be needed for first loop
5:00am - Start of 100 Kilometer Race
6:00am - Start of 50 Mile Race
7:00am - Start of 50 Kilometer Race
8:00am - Start of Marathon
Sunday, March 20 - Ort Farms
Midnight - 20:00 hour cutoff for the Speedster Buckle for 100 Mile Race
1:30am - 21:30 hour cutoff for leaving for your last loop.
4:00am - 24 hour cutoff for sub 24 hour buckles
for 100 Mile Race
10:00am - All races end
11:00am - post race award ceremony at the Long Valley Brewpub, Brunch is optional for $15 (regularly $21).
Aid Stations: Fully stocked at Race Head Quarters (RHQ). There will be three (3) other aid stations along the top of the T in the course. These will be positioned so that you will hit them all twice as you are running.
Drop Bags: Are allowed at RHQ. You will be passing your bag every 25 miles after your first loop.
Pacers: Allowed after sunset. Multiple pacers may be used, but only one at a time. Pacers must be on foot (no bikes).
Crews: Allowed at RHQ.
There are other cross roads and locations for crews to see you as you run.
Awards: Special awards to top 3 male and female winners in ALL races. Top 3 OA plus 1 AG (<30, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70+)
Buckles to all 100 mile finishers. (if the registered runner purchased one during registration).
3 options Speedster Buckle (sub 20 and finishing in the same day – before Midnight),
Sub 24 (finish by 4:00am on Sunday) and
Sub 30 (finish by 10:00 am Sunday)
Finishers Awards are available for ALL other distances as well (Marathon, 50K, 50M and 100K (option at registration).
Registration: Registration is OPEN. Any applications received after the race is full will be added to a waiting list in the order in which they were received.

Note: Each race entrant will receive one parking pass for the weekend that is included in your entry fee.
Additional vehicles for crews or other spectators will be asked to pay a parking fee of $10/day or $15/weekend per vehicle. This fee goes directly to Ort Farms, the location of RHQ.

Refund Policy: A 50% refund will be available until December 31st. No refunds after December 31st. No rollovers or transfers to next year.
Weather: Average high temperature is 51 degrees F with an average low of 32 degrees F. Last two years highs are in the mid 30’s and lows are in the mid 20’s. Record high for March 19 is 75 and record low is –1F.
Sun & Moon:
Full Moon: 1:11pm
Parking: A parking pass is included for all registered runners. Any other crew or spectators will need to pay a $10/day or $15/weekend parking fee directly to Ort Farms. If you pre pay on the registration form we will issue the parking pass and pay Ort Farms for you.
Camping: Tent sites are available at RHQ. This is primitive tenting in a large field. This is not a campground. There will be port a johns and we are trying to secure flowing water. The water depends on the frost level.
Pre-Race Dinner: A pasta dinner will be served on Friday evening from 5:30-7:00pm Long Valley Presbyterian Church. The LVPC is located across the street kitty corner from Ort Farms. The pre race meal is not mandatory but it is the location of race registration. You may purchase a ticket during online registration for $10 for yourself or your crew/spectators.
Other Rules: We are guests at Ort Farms and it will be appreciated if you treat the property as if it were your own.
- All pets must be kept on a leash
- Littering is strictly prohibited (this includes organic waste i.e. banana peels)
- Any type of glass bottle or container is not allowed
- Runners must be respectful of all volunteers and staff
Hotel Accommodations: The trail runs mostly East West and the town in the center is Long Valley NJ. An internet search for hotels brings up a few within 30 minutes drive to the RHQ. There is no official race hotel or location other than the RHQ of Ort Farms.
