An Investor
Currently, I am the owner of goNordic Investment AS 北行投资, which focuses on investing in Nordic countries. As an investor, I have invested mostly in the stock market and occasionally in startups in the past three years.
Performance
From May 2018 to June 2021, I realized an investment return of 6600% mainly from four stocks: NEL (2018.05 - 2020.03), Vow (2020.03 - 2020.11), Kahoot! (2020.03 - 2020.11), and poLight (2020.06 -).
Currently, I hold 1.35% of poLight AS, a Norwegian public firm, which delivers special lenses mimicking human eyes. PoLight has the product for the future. I also have small investments in startups, such as Villoid AS, an online shop for girls' fashion stuff. Villoid has an excellent team.
Investment Strategy
I am trying to develop an investment strategy that can deliver high returns in the long-term (e.g., in 5 years).
The textbook rules of investment, such as diversification, have never been important for me, as they are based on unrealistic assumptions and are useful only for large funds. (However, I do suggest small savers with little expertise to invest through index funds.)
Typically, I pick up a few undervalued stocks and invest heavily in each of them. Here are my basic rules for stock picking:
Invest only in the mid- or long-terms
中长期投资
Invest what I am able to understand
只投资看得懂的行业与企业
Invest only in fast-growing industries
新兴高增长行业
Invest in one of the best-listed firms in the industry
行业内的明星上市公司
Invest only in firms with low leverage
公司低杠杆
Never try to capture all opportunities
永远不要企图抓住所有机会
I am also interested in setting up a mini-fund focusing on quantitative trading.
