Welcome! This is a personal website for Xiangyu Shi, who is an Assistant Professor in Economics at the School of Management, Fudan University. Xiangyu obtained a PhD degree in economics at Yale University in 2024. Xiangyu is an applied economist currently working on development, trade, and applied microeconomics, and especially, social and economic networks and firm dynamics.Â
Xiangyu's research encompasses the applied microeconomic theory, applied econometric theory, and macroeconomics of networks and firm dynamics. Moreover, Xiangyu applies micro-structural and macro-quantitative models to study policy-relevant questions in development, trade, and applied microeconomics. Xiangyu also studies applied microeconomic theories and applied econometric theories that are related to real-world applications.
In his spare time, Xiangyu enjoys watching sports, playing basketball, and playing the violin, piano, and guitar.
