About Me:

I founded Gritworld GmbH this year working on interesting projects crossing computer graphics, animation and vision.

Before founding Gritworld, I was Chief Scientist and Managing Director of Smartisense GmbH. I've spent 6.5 years at Crytek working on Crysis 2, Ryse and heading Cinebox team.

I've decided to enter the industry to focus on practical research and high-tech products, but I'm still closely linked to the academic community by serving as Senior Associate Editor of ACM Computer in Entertainment, Industry Chair of Springer Encyclopedia of Computer Graphics and Games, Industry Chair of Eurographics 2016, Committee members of Motion in Games 2015 and 2016, CASA 2016, VRCAI 2015 etc.

Before I came to Germany, I worked at INRIA in France as a postdoc researcher on computer animation and GPU based super high resolution image reconstruction. I've also worked for Autodesk Shanghai and Microsoft Research Asia (Intern).

I received my Ph.D in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2007.
