Kobaïan Word List

I've recently been listening a lot to Magma, a French band founded in 1969. Their style is, in short and in my own words, progressive rock space opera. Their music tells the story of travelers who leave a decaying Earth to build a better life on the planet that comes to be called Kobaïa, of their achievements, and of their conflicts with the people of Earth. The most striking thing about the music is that it's sung entirely in an invented language, the language of Kobaïa. Little information is available about this language, so I'm doing my best to put together what's out there. For starters, you may take a look at this dictionary. I have no idea where these definitions came from, but what I do know is that many of the spellings are not correct. In particular, several diacritics have been omitted. I'll eventually have correct words here and hopefully some definitions if I can be sure of their meanings. But first, here is a list of titles with their proper spelling (as given on the album covers and inserts) and the meanings of some:

Attahk

Ëktah - The Hero (F. Le Héros)

Flöë Ëssi - The Girl of the Sea (F. La fille de la Mer)

Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh

Theusz Hamtaahk - Time of Hatred

Ẁurdah Ïtah - Death of Earth

Zeuhl Wortz - Celestial Words

More are yet to be added as they are confirmed. In the future, these titles may be moved to another page, since this one is ultimately about the word list, which I'm still putting together from these and other titles.
