How do I sign up for tutoring?

To schedule an appointment, please stop into the Tutoring Office located in the basement of the Dunbar Library 023R.  Tutoring sign-ups always begin the first Friday of the quarter.

How do I become a tutor?

In order to be eligible you must have be enrolled in at least six credit hours at Wright State, received an “A” or “B” in the courses you would like to tutor and must maintain GPA of 3.0 or above. Visit http://www.wright.edu/uc/success/services/become_a_tutor.html for a pre-application form.

Is it possible to get free tutoring?

            YES! Freshman students (those under 45 credit hours) receive an hour of free tutoring, every week, for every class they are enrolled. Several sponsors are also available please inquire in our office for more information.

How much does tutoring cost?

Freshman students (determined by credit hours) receive an hour of free tutoring, every week, for every class they are enrolled. For sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students, tutoring is offered at price of $5.00/hour- billed to your bursar account at the end of the quarter. Students who complete a tutor evaluation at the end of the quarter receive one free tutoring session.

How long does a tutoring session last?

            Most tutoring appointments are scheduled for an hour at a time; however other options are available upon request.          

What items should I bring to a tutoring appointment?

            Please have the following items with you at each tutoring session: book(s), class notes, syllabus, study guides, blank paper and pen, and a great attitude!

How should a student prepare for a tutoring session?

            Students should come to the tutoring appointment prepared with questions for their tutors and prepared to discuss the last class lecture.

How do I cancel an appointment?

            Students are given their tutor’s contact information when the appointment is set up in the office. Student can contact their tutors directly to cancel/reschedule an appointment. If students need to cancel they must do so at least one hour before their scheduled appointment time, otherwise a No Show fee will apply.

Where do I go to meet my tutor for our session?

          Please meet your tutor outside of Tutoring Services- 023R Dunbar Library at the floral printed chairs.  DO NOT sign in until your tutor arrives

Where do tutoring appointments take place?

            Tutoring appointments take place on the first or second floor of the Dunbar Library, inside Tutoring Services or the Millett Atrium.
