Yes!  Theater came to Weathersfield!

Thank you students, you all did a fabulous job!

Brent and Maya McCoy of Yes! Theater, spent the past two weeks in Physical Education class.  The students worked on circus skills, story creation, team building, and theatrics.

I am very proud of all the students! The artwork was amazing, too!  To see students work hard in all classes to learn the skills they did, was truly amazing.

We had 8th grade students learn to juggle, ride a unicycle, even walk on a ball!  The 7th grade did an awesome job building pyramids.  It took patience, strength and teamwork!  The 5th and 6th grade created and acted out fun stories.  4th grade worked on spinning plates while the 3rd grade did robot theatrics.  Grade 2 showed off their muscles with gymnastic-like moves.  1st/2nd Grade class did a great job to be the opening act.  1st grade performed a best mice and cheese act, I’ve seen all year.  Boy did they ‘nail’ the timing on the speaking parts!  My Kindergarten worked on juggling challenges.  All students in K-8 did get to try some of the juggling props.  I can’t wait to dig ours out of the back room for the kids.  We have diabolos, flower sticks, spinning plates, juggling balls and scarves too!

We had about a week of XC Skiing/snowshoeing.  Unfortunatley, the weather has not cooperated.  We jumped into jump roping/volleyball for the K-4 students and Volleyball for the 5-8.  I look forward to the Create-A-Game unit and Hoops/Jump Rope for Heart in March.

What is this Sport Stacking??
Sport Stacking (also known as cup stacking or speed stacking) is an individual and team sport that involves stacking specialized plastic cups in specific sequences in as little time as possible. The governing body setting the rules is the WSSA (World Sport Stacking Association). Participants of sport stacking stack cups in pre-determined sequences, competing against the clock or another player. Sequences are usually pyramids of three, six, or ten cups.
Students in grade K-4 have been working on sequencing and speed with a variety of activities.
Sport cups may be purchased at
