Creative Day
PURPOSE: To provide substitute teacher pay to provide educators with opportunities to enhance and enrich their teaching with learning experiences outside of their own classroom. PROCESS/TIMELINE: Complete the application. Obtain your principal’s written approval of your request. Send the application either electronically or through interoffice mail to: Kate Morneau, Tatham Elementary School (morneau@wsps.org) or Laurie Bedard, West Springfield Asst. Director of Special Education (bedard@wsps.org) or Donna Calabrese, Memorial Elementary School (calabrese@wsps.org)
Notes: The application must be received by the fifteen of the month prior to the date of the requested absence. You will be notified in writing as to whether or not your application is approved. West Springfield Public School Educators: Submit your request for an absence on FRONTLINE ABSENCE MANAGEMENT. Select Creative Day as the reason for your absence. Teachers from private and parochial schools who do not use AESOP should follow the protocol that your school has established for requesting a Creative Day absence. Teachers who use a Creative Day are asked to submit a brief summary of their experience to the Creative Day Committee (through Kate Morneau or Laurie Bedard or Donna Calabrese), who will submit it to the Partnership. Pictures are welcomed too.
