Jill Krebs is being inducted in the Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame this Friday evening. We all know what a great person and runner Jill is and she is VERY deserving of this honor. In an era where superlatives are misused and used too often, it is no stretch to say that Jill is the best distance runner in college history. This can be documented by All – American honors (2x in xc, only female or male in school history to earn such honors), national qualifying (only 3 time xc national qualifier in school history including both genders), the only distance runner in school history to qualify for USATF junior nationals (5K track), and the only distance runner in school history to qualify for nationals in a track event above 400 m (either gender – 2 x NCAA III in both the 5K and 10K). She remains the only athlete (either gender) to medal in a track event above 800 m, winning the conference 10K twice. I could write a book on this young lady and her accomplishments. Needless to say, we were/are blessed to have her as a member of our school community and as a member of our (college/WRRC) running programs. When you see Jill, please thank her and congratulate her.
