Place in History - The legacy of Dave Batista is one that will not be fully realized for several years to come.  He entered the sport as a tremendous physical specimen who had the proverbial rocket strapped to his back largely based on his look.  His thick, yet chiseled body covered in tattoos and bald head made for an impressive visual. However, he was hurried into the WWE and many worried he would be badly damaged his packaging.  Eventually, Batista was placed in a heel stable with the company's top star Triple H, the legendary Ric Flair and fellow future ace Randy Orton.  This allowed Batista to grow in ways that few are able to since the territories have died.  After Orton's turn was rushed, it opened the chance for Batista to turn, which was done much more properly and paid big dividends in establishing him as a top star.  Some key departures led to Batista being pushed to an even higher level sooner and "the Animal" became one of the feature attractions in a recovering WWE.  Batista did a masterful job developing his presentations - his machine gun entrance, his rope shaking, his thumbs down taunt and those aided in his popularity in a way reminiscent of the Attitude Era.  Batista also proved to a bonafide draw as he (of Filipino ancestry), Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio were key in bringing the Latino viewers to Smackdown.  As a babyface, Batista was often paired with monsters like the Big Show, the Great Khali and Kane.  Like The Undertaker, he was highly regarded for his aura and hard work, but his in-ring talents were never seen as his strongest suit.  However when paired with performers like Shawn Michaels, the Undertaker, Randy Orton and Triple H, Batista could rise to the occasion and shine in the ring.  In the final few months of his WWE run, Batista also showed a new level of his abilities as a heel.  While his career in pro-wrestling is not as long as many, he spent the majority of it as a top star in the biggest company in the world.  Batista has long been an avid martial artist and is hoping to try his hand at MMA before he cannot physically do it.
