Junior Section Team

Our Coaches

Find information about our Junior Squad coaches below, complete with photos for identification.

Clive Capel (Junior Coordinator & Coach) - clive[at]wrcjnr.com

If you want to learn how to row from scratch, Clive is exactly who you want. Every week, Clive develops beginners into vastly improving rowers and, with Nick, runs regular beginner courses.  Clive also works closely with Nick, Matt, Graham and the other coaches helping to make WRCjnr happen.

Clive also deals with the administration of the Junior section and is well known for the vast quantity of email correspondence generated each week in the service of the Junior section.

He is also a familiar sight at Regattas and Heads towing the club's distinctive blue boats all over the South of England. He is also a member of the Walton & Weybridge Regatta committee. He is a UKCC L2 qualified coach.  He is a Vice Captain of the Club.

Nick Coxhead (Coach) - nick[at]wrcjnr.com

Nick is good fun as a coach as well as being very reliable, and making you feel comfortable with what you are doing. He's open to any questions you might have, helping to encourage and improve our developing Juniors.

Nick is also a very practical man and maintains the boats we all use.

Nick runs regular beginner courses with Clive and is a UKCC L2 qualified coach

Graham Cocks (Coach)

Graham helps with the early session Juniors, and is always ready to lend a hand.  He is also a keen member of the Weyfarers rowing squad and has just completed  his UKCC L2 coaching qualification.

Judy Sarsby (Welfare Office)

Judy can be contacted ajudy@weybridgerowing.org.uk.  If you have any concerns about life at Weybridge, please talk to her.

Past Coaches

We lost Jon Beagley on 10th August 2013 - RIP Jon and thanks.  Chris Jones is now a First Officer with FlyBE, Jack Percival is working in a City bank and Tom Capel is a Lawyer with Clifford Chance in London.  Matt Beagley joined the WRCJNR team as a coach and is still running marathons - now in memory of his Dad.  Lisa Taylor has left LEH and Katy Knowles runs a 'tall and talented' program in Norwich.  Mark Calvin is coaching - somewhere, I can't remember, and Chihiro is studying at University I think.
