Lengthsman

Cllr Staveley reported that there was a good level of support for the work that he does.

As previously circulated, there is some doubt about the level of payment that will be received from Lancashire towards the Lune 2 scheme in 2012/13. Should the funding be cut and the village wished to remain in the scheme the shortfall would need to be recovered by an increase in the precept. It was resolved to add this item to the public meeting agenda that will be called to discuss the issues concerning travellers. It was noted that the precept must be submitted in January and that Lancashire’s funding will not be confirmed until after the precept is submitted. It is therefore important that a decision on this matter is made at the November meeting of the Council.
