"Wouldn't It Be Someting" focuses on the letters written between Dennis Depcik and Mary (Maggie) Brown, who was his sister-in-law's kid sister and seven years younger than him - just an "insignificant kid." Maggie began writing shortly after completing her junior year of high school while Dennis was beginning his tour of duty in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In the beginning Maggie was nothing more than a pleasant pen pal. During three years and over 140 letters, everything changed.
Maggie was a beautiful writer who openly shared her feelings in letters that came from her heart. Dennis was a more guarded, cautious writer whose letters stumbled from his head. But it was these letters that seeded their love for each other, a love that stayed strong for a lifetime.
