Slavery and My Neighbor

Jesus told us we are responsible to look after the welfare of our neighbors. The crafty lawyer confronted Jesus with the question - Who is my neighbor? He was actually trying to get around the personal responsibility to look out for those people he did not consider his neighbor. However, Jesus would not let him get away with his scheme. Just like that lawyer we all seek to get away from meeting the needs and helping those in need that we encounter in life. We have an obligation to help them out when the opportunity arises. William Wilberforce is just one example of how a major Christian leader lived out this principle and changed the direction of history.
