Unit #2:  India and China




  1. The beliefs of citizens influence their conduct, and by extension, their governments.

  1. The fundamental principles of Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and  Daoism
  2. The technical achievements of Indian and Chinese civilization

  1. Extrapolate cause and effect
  2. Evaluate hypothetical behaviors in moral terms




Performance Tasks:


  1. Read and explain Buddhist stories and identify the Buddhist principles they illustrate.
  2. Identify and analyze character traits in an episode of “The Simpsons”.
