As you can see from the picture below the exit from the roundabout into Allendale Road (on the right) is a downhill racing curve. Many cars do not signal and the road is usually busy when children both walking and cycling need to cross it to get to school, commuting between Quorn and Loughborough. We believe that it is an accident waiting to happen. To date the new estate that Allendale Road serves has not been fully occupied. But as more houses are built the number of "incidents" will certainly increase.

Unfortunately a human sacrifice is often required if a junction is to be improved on safety grounds and we haven't found a volunteer yet. If anything is to happen we need to demonstrate a strong public demand for improvements at this roundabout.

We have therefore started an ePetition (click here) [see warning in red below re. password or you could waste a lot of time] which we would ask you to support. Please ask you friends and acquaintances who live in the County to support it. Due to technical difficulties with the County system resulting in the petition being unavailable at times, the period for signing has been extended until 4th April.

Anyone who lives, works or studies in Leicestershire or is the recipient of a County Council Service can sign an e-Petition (this includes children).

BE WARNED YOU NEED TO REGISTER AND YOUR PASSWORD MUST CONTAIN BOTH UPPER AND LOWER CASE LETTERS AND A NUMBER OR SPECIAL CHARACTER. Something like " Cycle1Fast* " should work. If you don't comply then you just end up looping round.
