   April 29, 2017

The Illinois Prairie Weaver's Guild  [ IPW ]  is hosting a workshop with Heather Winslow on "New Millennium Fibres" on May 9 - 11.   Guild Member Valda M will be attending & thinks it will be interesting.  They had a member who has had to withdraw from the workshop and so are looking for someone to take her place.   A copy of the prospectus is here.

Because of the circumstances, IPW is offering it at the Guild member price of $205.   That cost included the warp, supplied by Heather, of new and nifty yarns.    The member that was originally scheduled to attend has received her warp and will dress her loom and loan it for the class.

The workshop will held in Lombard, IL.    The exact location and times are on the prospectus.   If anyone is interested, contact either:   Ellen at  threadings1@comcast.net   or   Paula at  Paula42@hotmail.com

Last Friday, 2/17, was National Random Act of Kindness day.   Earlier this week, we received a request for an ad for our Website and Newsletter from Neumann Family Services in Chicago.   Their mission is to serve clients "...with a dual diagnosis of intellectual/developmental disability and mental illness progress towards the greatest degree of independence, self-sufficiency, and self-fulfillment that is possible."   They've started a Weaving program & can use some weaving equipment & supplies.   Our Board thinks this can be a good outreach program for us.   Take a look at our It's Available page for more info.   If you have something to donate, bring it to a Guild Meeting.

For Guild Members who have not renewed or .....

...... who have had their Membership lapse in previous years:

Here's just a laid-back reminder that Woodstock Weavers Guild would love to have you be part of our group and share the fellowship, experiences, programs and maybe even Meeting day lunchtimes with us for our new Guild year.

Just think.   For a reasonable cost, you get a great Guild Newsletter ten times a year for about the price of a muffin and coffee.   Info about upcoming events and weavings that Members create month after month.   Can't beat that, even if you can't get to Meetings.

We miss you.   Our records say some of you haven't renewed your Memberships; let me know if we missed something.   And, just in case,  the Membership Renewal Form is on our Website on the  Join Us page.   If you decide, you can mail your Renewal Form to our PO Box below:

This is a once-in-a-while opportunity.   Convergence is July 31st through August 6th in downtown Milwaukee.   If you love weaving, do NOT miss this great opportunity.   The Convergence Website is here.

WE.ARE.ALL.AMERICANS.

ENOUGH!   Far MORE than enough.   THIS MUST STOP.

Where to Start?
  • Ban assault weapons
  • Ban large capacity ammo clips
  • Require universal firearm background checks
  • Improved mental health screening for weapon purchases
  • Jail for those refusing

Is This What Our America Has Become?   A Crappy Third World Country?

Tell your USA Elected Representatives to start to FIX THIS.
Tell them to do it NOW; before more of OUR families get destroyed.
