Weekend trips offer students a chance to get away from campus and into the wild for a bit. Whether we do easy car camping, or spend the weekend climbing or biking, or decide to go backpacking somewhere remote, weekend trips are a good time.
Wooster is located fairly to close to many Eastern outdoors locations. The college is within 4 hours of the hiking and rafting in Pennsylvania's Allegheny Mountains, within 5 hours of the New River Gorge's climbing and hiking, within 7 hours of a number of West Virginia national forests and within 6 hours of the Red River Gorge's climbing and hiking. We are less than 2 hours away from lake Erie, 5 hours from the coast of lake Michigan and 7 hours from the more remote dunes on the Michigan coast. All these locations offer unique outdoor opportunities.
Even closer to home, Wooster is only 40 minutes from Mohican State park camping and we are within 3 hours of the beautiful waterfalls and rock formations in Hocking Hills, Ohio.
From top to bottom: Climbing at the Red River Gorge, kayaking in Ohio, exploring Spangler park, songs and campfires at Mohican, tents at Mohican, slackling at Summersville Lake in West Virginia, concrete crack climbing in Cleveland, and two photos of climbing at the New River Gorge.
