VIRTUAL LOST & FOUND BOX
Thanks to Amanda Taillon, our parent volunteer coordinator, and a number of other volunteers, we now have a virtual lost and found box. CLICK ON THE IMAGE ABOVE to see what was most recently found at WOM, then come on down and pick it up from the large wooden box outside of the main gym and library doors. It is just that simple. Volunteers will update the contents with pics as needed either once or twice per month. There is some very valuable clothing in there!

W. O. Mitchell Elementary School was named in honour of Canada’s literary legend W.O. Mitchell, and is a living legacy to this great Canadian. Each child is encouraged to investigate and build upon his or her individual strengths and to strive forward to reach full academic potential. A variety of approaches and programs presented by our staff allow our community of learners to practice teamwork, leadership and risk-taking as they prepare for the future.
December 3, 2015 — This fall, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) has been considering changes to the delivery of French as a second language which would affect all kindergarten programs and grades 1-3 in the Early French Immersion (EFI) program.
Trustee Christine Boothby will be hosting a meeting on Wednesday, January 6th, at 7:00 pm. in the Auditorium of the Earl of March Secondary School. The focus of the meeting will be on the Proposed Changes to Early French Immersion in Kindergarten and Grades 1 - 3 for September 2016.
E-waste fundraiser a great success!
Thanks to everyone for donating your old electronics and used clothing to the E-waste fundraiser on Saturday. There was a steady stream of people throughout the day and it was a great success! Thanks to our fantastic team of volunteers for braving the cold and supporting WOM.
The W.O. Mitchell E,S. bus lane will be used this year for the start and finish location for Councillor Hubley's annual wagon rides. Click on the image above to find out more.
