Wolfson is the most cosmopolitan
college in Cambridge and Wolfson Language & Culture Society aims to take advantage of
this unique melting-pot of languages and cultures by offering members of
Wolfson a chance to learn or teach a language. Learning
a foreign language is not only fun but an important skill in any CV. In the
contemporary language classes we have many students who use our classes as part
of their preparation for studying or working abroad post Cambridge. However,
just as many simply love learning a foreign language and whatever your reason may
be, we welcome you to take part. Another important point for us is to provide Wolfson
MPhil and PhD students in linguistics and area studies with an opportunity to
gain teaching experience in a relaxed and friendly environment. Alongside these
academic benefits we arrange termly informal presentations where students are
invited to share their experience of different cultures.
you are interested in learning or teaching a language please do get in touch.
We would also very much like to hear from you if you want to share your
personal travel experience or simply how it was like where you grew up. Your
own culture may seem boring to you, but to us all cultures (including British!) are
exotic and we would love to hear about them from firsthand experiences.
