What is APO?
Alpha Phi Omega is a national coed service fraternity that aims to promote service and leadership on campuses across the country. Joining our student organization enables you to be part of a meaningful voice on the Wofford campus. Not only will you be provided with consistent opportunities to give back to the community, but you will also be creating lasting relationships with your pledge class and all active members of our chapter. APO also provides you with meaningful experiences that help strengthen and build your leadership skills, as well as allows you to meet with other chapters around the nation. Our chapter's accomplishments are a result of our dedication to the cardinal principles of Alpha Phi Omega: Leadership, Friendship, and Service!
Why should I rush APO?
- Leadership is a matter of development. Alpha Phi Omega develops leaders. As we grow, we seek qualities of leadership, and throughout our lives, we pursue the development of those qualities. Through our leadership development program in APO, we are able to develop ourselves. We discover our own talents and strive to better our skills. We study, we learn, and we practice.Friendship:
- Muhammad Ali once said, "Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain." Brotherhood is the spirit of friendship in APO; it implies respect, honesty and dependability.Service:
- For over seventy-five years, we have set the standard for college campus-based volunteerism. Nationwide APO does over a million hours of Service annually for such organizations as American Cancer Society, Habitat For Humanity, United Way, and the American Red Cross, among others.
