Duties for Cleaning Volunteers

To keep our Club House looking great, cleaning does not take up too much of your time.

There are two distinct periods during the year for the cleaning of the clubhouse: 

During the summer period, when the bowls greens are open – approximately from March to October -  the clubhouse is cleaned primarily on Mondays and Fridays by a team of three people.  A rota is established from the volunteer list after discussion with individuals, and this usually involves a maximum of  three weeks per season. Each team should check the fixture list for their weeks to see if extra cleaning is necessary i.e. if there are several home matches during the week, a check should be made between these events.

During the winter period, when the bowls green is closed, there is often a social event held in the clubhouse and therefore it is necessary to draw up a much-reduced rota to ensure the clubhouse is clean and tidy before these events.

Volunteers who are new to the team will be given an induction by the rota manager or a member of the team.

 All cleaning supplies, gloves and equipment are provided.
